The short version
- You're buying prepaid data credit in US dollars. Data only — no calls, no texts.
- Your balance never expires, and it's credit with us, not cash we hold for you.
- No ID and no account needed. If you don't attach an email, your order link is the only way back in — save it.
- Refunds come back as store credit, never to your card or wallet. Full detail on the refund page.
- Use it legally, don't resell it, don't hammer the network. That's genuinely most of it.
This box is a summary for speed. The sections below are the actual terms.
1. What Silent eSIM is
Silent eSIM sells prepaid mobile data on an eSIM profile. You load a US dollar balance, install the eSIM on your phone, and data is metered against that balance as you use it, in 200+ countries, at the published per-MB and per-GB rates.
It is a data-only service. There is no phone number, no voice calling and no SMS. Your existing SIM keeps your number; the eSIM sits alongside it for data. Hotspot and tethering are enabled and don't cost extra.
There are no daily fees, no bundles and no overage. Usage is reported by the network roughly every ten minutes and deducted from your balance. When the balance reaches $0, data pauses. Nothing is billed after that — you top up to resume, on the same eSIM, with no reinstall.
2. Who can use it
You need to be old enough to enter a contract where you live, and you need to be paying with money and a payment method that are yours to use. You're responsible for everything done on your eSIM, whether that's you or someone you handed the QR code to.
We don't ask for identity documents, and we're not going to start asking so we can enforce this. Buying the service is you telling us you meet these conditions.
3. Your device has to be compatible
The eSIM only works on a phone or tablet that supports eSIM and is carrier-unlocked. That's broadly iPhone XS and later, Google Pixel 3 and later, Samsung Galaxy S20 and later, and cellular iPads from the same era. Check the compatible devices list before you buy — device incompatibility is not something we can fix after the fact, and it isn't a refundable failure on our side.
The activation QR code is single-use. Once a profile is installed on a device, scanning the same code on a second device won't work. If you need it re-issued, open a ticket on the support page and we'll look at it.
4. Coverage is real, but it isn't a guarantee
We don't own towers. Your data runs on local partner networks in each country, and how well it works in a specific street, building, valley, aircraft or cruise terminal depends on those networks and on your device. Speeds vary; we don't promise a specific speed anywhere.
So: we can't guarantee service in any particular location, and poor signal in one place isn't a service failure we can refund. If data doesn't work at all where the network says it should, that's different — tell us and we'll investigate.
5. Your balance is store credit
The USD figure on your eSIM is prepaid credit for data with us. It is not e-money, not a bank deposit, and not cash we're holding on your behalf. Practically, that means:
- It never expires. There is no dormancy fee and no clock running on it.
- It can't be withdrawn as cash, and it can't be paid out to a card or a crypto wallet.
- It isn't transferable between eSIMs or to another person's balance.
- Any promotional bonus credit added on top of a top-up is store credit on the same terms.
A one-time eSIM issue fee applies to your first order. It's shown at checkout before you pay, and once the eSIM has actually been issued to you, that fee is used up.
6. Prices and rates
Data is charged per megabyte at the country rate in force when you use it. The rates page is the live source — it's generated from the same data the billing system uses, so if a rate here ever disagreed with a blog post or a marketing page, the rates page wins.
Rates can change. They move when our upstream wholesale costs move, and we don't get advance notice of every change. Changes apply to data used after the change, never retroactively to data you've already used. Your existing balance is unaffected — a rate change doesn't reduce the dollars sitting on your eSIM, it changes how far they go.
7. Paying
You can pay by card, or in cryptocurrency via Cryptomus (Bitcoin, Lightning, USDT and many others). Both credit the same balance.
- Card payments are capped at $200 per checkout. That cap exists to keep card fraud and chargeback exposure bounded. For a larger top-up, pay in crypto — the crypto path isn't capped.
- Crypto payments are final once confirmed on-chain. We cannot reverse a blockchain transaction, and neither can our payment processor. Send to the address shown, in the asset and network shown, before the invoice window closes. Sending the wrong asset, the wrong network, or the wrong amount can make the funds unrecoverable.
- Credit is applied when the payment confirms, not when it's submitted. Crypto confirmation time depends on the network, not on us.
We never see or store your full card details. Card payments happen on the payment processor's own checkout.
If you think a charge is wrong, please open a ticket before starting a chargeback. A chargeback on a delivered eSIM will normally result in the balance and the eSIM being suspended while it's resolved, and we'd much rather just fix the problem.
8. No account? Then your order link is the key
You can buy without an email address, a name or a password. That's the point of the product, and it has one real consequence you should understand before you rely on it.
If you don't attach a recovery email, the only ways back to your eSIM are the secret order link, or your access code and PIN. We can look up an eSIM by order ID or ICCID. We cannot identify an anonymous order from a name, an email you never gave us, or a payment you say you made — because we genuinely never recorded who you are. If you lose all of it, the balance is effectively lost, and there is no back door we can open for you.
Save your order link. Or add a recovery email on the account page — it costs you nothing in privacy terms beyond the address itself, and it makes recovery possible from any device.
9. Acceptable use
Use the connection for anything lawful where you are. Don't use it to:
- break the law, or help someone else break it;
- send spam, run credential stuffing, scan or attack other systems, or distribute malware;
- resell the service, or re-sell the connection as your own product;
- run bulk, automated or machine-generated traffic that behaves like network abuse — permanent large-scale proxying, SIM-box style operation, or traffic engineered to strain a partner network;
- get around a network's technical limits, or misrepresent yourself to a local carrier.
Normal heavy use — a working trip, video calls, a hotspot for your laptop, a family sharing your tether — is fine. This clause is about abuse, not about volume. Our partner networks apply their own fair-use protections, and traffic that trips those can be throttled or cut off at their end, which is outside our control.
10. Suspension and termination
We can suspend or terminate an eSIM if it's being used in breach of section 9, if a payment is reversed or disputed, if we're required to by a partner network or by law, or if keeping it running would put other customers' service at risk.
Where we reasonably can, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to fix it. If we terminate for abuse, remaining balance is not refunded. If we stop offering the service entirely, we'll say so and give you a reasonable window to use your balance.
11. Refunds
Top-ups are refunded as store credit, not back to your card or wallet. Data you've already used isn't refundable. If something failed on our side and you couldn't get online, tell us and we'll make it right. The full policy, including how to request one, is on the refund page, and it's part of these terms.
12. What we don't promise
The service is provided as it is. We don't promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available in every location at every moment, and we don't promise a particular speed. Mobile networks fail sometimes, upstream partners have outages, and phones do strange things after an OS update.
Don't rely on this eSIM as your only connectivity for something safety-critical. It's a prepaid travel data service, not an emergency line — it has no voice calling, so it cannot be used to call emergency services.
13. Limits on our liability
If we get something wrong, our responsibility is to fix the service or to put credit back on your balance. Beyond that, and to the extent the law where you live allows it, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses — a missed booking, a missed meeting, lost work, lost data or lost profit — arising out of the service not working.
Where liability can't be excluded, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability for fraud, or for anything else that can't lawfully be limited.
14. Your rights where you live
Nothing in these terms removes or reduces the consumer rights you have under the law of the country you live in. If your local law gives you a statutory right to cancel, or a remedy for a service that wasn't as described, that right applies regardless of what this page says, and we won't argue the policy at you instead of honouring it.
If there's a dispute, please start with a ticket on the support page. Almost everything gets resolved there, and it's faster for you than anything else.
15. Privacy
How we handle data — what we collect, what we deliberately don't, and who processes what — is set out on the privacy policy. It's part of these terms.
16. Changes to these terms
We can update these terms — usually to describe a change to the product, or to say something more clearly. The version on this page, with the "last updated" date at the top, is the one that governs your use of the service. If a change materially affects you and we hold an email address for you, we'll tell you.
17. Talking to us
The support ticket form is our contact channel — for questions about these terms, for complaints, and for anything else. Open one from the contact page or the support page. There is no phone line, and we'd rather tell you that than list a number nobody answers.
