Monero (XMR) is the only mainstream cryptocurrency where amounts, sender, and recipient are all hidden by default on-chain. If your goal is buying mobile data without leaving a financial trail, it's the cleanest option.
Why Monero, not Bitcoin
Bitcoin is pseudonymous, not anonymous. Every transaction is public, and chain-analysis firms routinely link wallets to identities. Monero uses ring signatures, stealth addresses, and confidential transactions — none of that information is on-chain.
How to buy one
- Get some XMR. Options:
- DEXs: atomic swaps (BTC ↔ XMR) via tools like Haveno or SimpleSwap.
- Cash: LocalMonero / RetoSwap.
- Mining: small amounts mineable on a laptop CPU.
- Visit silentesim.io, pick a country and amount.
- Choose "Pay with crypto" → select XMR.
- Send the exact amount to the address shown. One confirmation (~2 minutes) and your QR code appears.
What we know about you afterwards
- Your IP address at checkout (kept 7 days for fraud prevention, then deleted).
- The country / region of your eSIM (we have to know where to provision it).
What we don't know: your name, your home country, your wallet, your previous purchases.
