How to install an eSIM on Android (Pixel, Samsung, OnePlus)

How to install an eSIM on Android
The flow varies slightly by manufacturer but takes about a minute on any phone.
Google Pixel (3 and later)
- Settings → Network & internet → SIMs.
- Tap + Add SIM.
- Tap Download a SIM instead?.
- Scan your QR code → Activate.
- Name the plan and pick it as your mobile data default.
- Enable Roaming on the eSIM line.
Samsung Galaxy (S20 and later)
- Settings → Connections → SIM manager.
- Tap Add eSIM.
- Scan QR code from service provider.
- Confirm and add.
- In SIM manager, set the eSIM as Mobile data SIM.
- Tap into the eSIM → enable Data roaming.
OnePlus / Nothing / Motorola
- Settings → Mobile network → SIM cards.
- Add eSIM → scan QR.
- Enable Data Roaming on that SIM.
Common gotchas
- No data after landing: toggle airplane mode. If still nothing, manually pick the carrier under Mobile network → Network operators.
- Slow speeds: switch preferred network from 5G to LTE.
- Battery drain: turn off your home SIM line if you're not using it.
