eSIM compatible phones in 2026

Before buying a travel eSIM, confirm your phone supports the standard. Most phones sold since 2019 do.

Apple

• iPhone: XS, XR, and every model since (11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17). US iPhone 14 and later are eSIM only — no physical SIM tray.
• iPad: all cellular iPads since 2018.

Google Pixel

• Pixel 3 and later — all support eSIM.
• Pixel 7 / 8 / 9 / 10 support dual eSIM (two active lines at once).

Samsung Galaxy

• S20 and later
• Note 20 series
• Z Fold / Z Flip (all)
• A54 / A55 / A56 (most newer mid-range)

Other Android

• OnePlus 11, 12, 13
• Sony Xperia 10 IV+, 1 V+
• Motorola Razr (2022 onwards), Edge 40+, Edge 50+
• Nothing Phone 2, 3
• Huawei P40, P50 (limited regions)
• Xiaomi 13, 14 (region-dependent)

What doesn't work

• Phones older than ~2019.
• Some China-region Android variants (eSIM disabled in firmware).
• US carrier-locked phones sold before 2021 may need an unlock first.

How to check

• iPhone: Settings → General → About → look for "Available SIM" or scroll to "EID".
• Android: Settings → About phone → look for "EID" or dial *#06#.
